2010 Tour of Switzerland: a surprising end, the time trial for Tony Martin, the final victory for Fränk Schleck
A surprising end in the Tour of Switzerland 2010 this afternoon: Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) didn't win the final time trial, and neither Robert Gesink (Rabobank) nor Lance Armstrong (Team Radioshack) takes the final victory of the 74th edition of the Tour of Switzerland!

No, Tony Martin was faster than Fabian Cancellara and thus takes the stage victory. Robert Gesink's performance in this final time trial was disappointing, in contrast to Lance Armstrong's. Fränk Schleck (Team Saxo Bank)'s performance wasn't disappointing either and the rider from Luxembourg thus stays ahead of the American: Fränk Schleck wins the 2010 Tour of Switzerland!

2010 Tour of Switzerland: start order and route of the individual time trial in Liestal
122 riders will come to the start of the decisive individual time trial of the Tour of Switzerland 2010 in Liestal tomorrow. Of the 26.9 kilometers the first 11.4 are uphill to win 229 meters in altitude, before going back downhill to Liestal.

In the general classification, the leader Robert Gesink (Rabobank) has a time gap with the other riders in the top 10 of at most 1'38" only and the Dutch rider must thus give everything he has in this individual time trial if he wants to win this 74th edition of the Tour of Switzerland.

2010 Tour of Switzerland: the forelast stage for Rui Costa!
The forelast stage of the Tour of Switzerland 2010 was won at the end of the afternoon by Rui Costa (Caisse d'Epargne). The young Portugues rider ended the stage in a solo ride, a few seconds ahead of his team mate José Joaquin Rojas and the Belgian rider Maxime Monfort of the HTC-Columbia team.

2010 Tour of Switzerland: Marcus Burghardt ... again!
In today's stage we had to wait over 60 kilometers before a leading group was formed. From this group with 16 riders the German rider Marcus Burghardt (BMC Racing Team), after his victory in the stage Wettingen > Frutigen the day before yesterday continues for a solo adventure over 60 kilometers to win this 7th stage of the Tour of Switzerland 2010. The day before the final weekend of this 74th edition of the Tour of Switzerland, Robert Gesink (Rabobank) is still leading the general classification.

Robert Gesink goes double in the 2010 Tour of Switzerland: 6th stage and yellow jersey
Today was the queen's stage for the riders of the Tour of Switzerland 2010 with two hors catégorie climbs and one climb of the first category between Meiringen and La Punt. The stage took place in quite bad weather conditions (rain), except for the end when the sun appeared. In the climb of the Albulapass, the Dutch rider Robert Gesink Rabobank came back on Andy Schleck (Team Saxo Bank) and decided to continue his attack. The young Dutch rider thus arrived solo on the finish line, 42 seconds ahead of the first group of 8 riders behind him.

2010 Tour of Switzerland: Marcus Burghardt wins the 5th stage from the leading group
The day before the queen stage of the Tour of Switzerland 2010, the 153 remaining riders connected Wettingen to Frutigen over 172.5 kilometers today during the 5th stage. Quite rapidly a leading group was formed and from this group Marcus Burghardt (BMC Racing Team) launched an attack in the last kilometers to take the stage victory. Tony Martin (HTC-Columbia), who finished 47 seconds later in the peloton keeps the yellow leader's jersey ... waiting for the queen stage tomorrow!

Alessandro Petacchi wins the 4th stage in the 2010 Tour of Switzerland after a fall in the final
After Brice d'Arcalis, Brice Feillu (Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team) almost became Brice de Suisse this afternoon ... unfortunately his solo attack ended at 24 kilometers from the finish. A mass fall in the last meters of the stage disturbed the bunch sprint. Since he could avoid this fall, the Italian rider Alessandro Petacchi won the stage at the finish in Wettingen.

The 192.2 kilometer long stage from Schwarzenburg to Wettingen was announced as the easiest stage of this Tour of Switzerland 2010, made for sprinters. Fränk Schleck wins the 3rd stage in the 2010 Tour of Switzerland, his team mate Fabian Cancellara loses his yellow jersey to Tony Martin
A long lasting leading group with 3 riders finally didn't continue till the finish in the 3rd stage of the Tour of Switzerland 2010 today. At the end of the stage Fränk Schleck attacked in the final climb before the finish and thus won the stage. Fabian Cancellara, who arrived 7 seconds after the stage winner loses his yellow jersey for one second to the German rider Tony Martin.

2010 Tour of Switzerland: Heinrich Haussler wins the sprint in Sierre while Fabian Cancellara keeps the yellow jersey ... and a big smile!
A leading group of 5 riders made the show in the stage between Ascona and Sierre today. Three of the riders of this leading group were taken back only in the last kilometers and the stage finally ended in a bunch sprint which was won by Heinrich Haussler (Cervélo TestTeam), ahead of Pablo Urtasun of the Euskaltel-Euskadi team, Marco Marcato of the Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team and the sprinter of the Rabobank team, Oscar Freire.

Fabian Cancellara (Saxo Bank) takes the lead by winning the opening time trial in the 2010 Tour of Switzerland
This afternoon the opening time trial of the Tour of Switzerland 2010 took place in Lugano. Last year's winner Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) took the very expected victory on this solitary effort in 10'21", 1 second ahead of Roman Kreuziger (Liquigas-Doimo) and 3 ahead of Tony Martin (HTC-Columbia) and Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Doimo).
