The Tour de France and all related aspects ... information about the Tour de France history, the upcoming Tour de France editions, things you always wanted to know but never discovered before about the Tour de France and a lot more ...
Several people came to ask me about it in the past few days ... and several of my customers in the Tour de France 2010 were also wondering about the same question ... How come Mark Cavendish (HTC-Columbia) wins 5 stages in a sprint (the small rider from the Isle of Man seems to have found back his sprinters legs he was looking for since the start of the season) while he didn't win the green jersey of best sprinter?
Indeed, Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre-Farnese Vini) took - almost a week ago already - home the precious green tissue. How could Ale-Jet (who won "only" 2 stages) beat Cav like this?
The answer to this question could be very short and simple: simply because the Italian rider has shown a more regular performance than the British sprinter. Since I saw this question popp ...
This afternoon the prologue of the Tour de France 2010 took place in Rotterdam in The Netherlands. For the 4th time in the history of the Tour de France, Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) won this initial individual time trial and thus took the first yellow jersey of the 97th edition of the Tour.
Partially run under the rain, this time trial has become more dangerous for some riders, but Spartacus was lucky ... the sun popped through again when he did his solitary effort.
The summary of the prologue of the Tour de France 2010
The Dutch spectators were quite numerous at the start in Rotterdam but I think they were less than expected. Maybe the bad weather kept people at home watching the prologue on TV ?!
In this article you'll thus discover the list of riders who will come to the start of the Tour de France 2010 and who'll do all they can to finish the 3,642 kilometers up to Paris where they'll finish on Sunday 25 July 2010. You'll ...
On Saturday, the Tour de France 2010 will start in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). The NOS, the Dutch equivalent of the BBC, is ready for it and announces this to the Dutch spectators with an original teaser ....
NOS 2010 Tour de France teaser
On the dedicated Tour-website the Dutch official broadcaster announces being ready for the start of the Tour de France 2010. In the tease, which announces that the Tour de France 2010 will be broadcasted from Saturday on their stations, we first see the rim of a bike wheel with the text NOS STUDIO SPORT (the name of the NOS' sports programme), the rest of the wheel and the text TOUR DE FRANCE 2010 ...> Read the whole story | 3 comments | shown 1146x

Let's have a look at St Michel, in the advertising caravan, in the cities the Tour passes through and on the Internet!
St Michel presents itself as the 100-year-old with the same values, same spirit and same love for tradition as the Tour de France. Indeed, the family company was created in 1905, only 2 years after the start of the first Tour de France in Montgéron and becomes Official Supplier of the most important cycling event in the world in 2010, thus introducing t ...
The information rayon-boissons.com published on 23 February 2010 has been confirmed today by the syrup brand and by the Tour de France's official web site (at 93 days from the start).
Teisseire not only becomes one of the brands of the advertising caravan in the Tour de France 2010, but also "sirop officiel" until 2013!
When the site rayon-boissons.com announced the information a bit more than a month ago, it seemed as if the brand would only be present in the advertising caravan of the Tour, without however becoming a sponsor of the event (especially because the logo didn't appear on the ...
Two days after the Critérium International 2010, Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) published the list of the 22 teams which will participate in the Tour de France 2010. It was quite clear that this list would make some teams happy while others would of course be disappointed, because at least 3 of the teams who requested an invitation would receive a negative answer.

The rumours about a possible Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2013 from Corsica are getting louder and louder and today's announcement about the move of the Critérium International to Corsica can only amplify them.
The Critérium International 2010 in Porto-Vecchio
Today A.S.O. (the organisor of the Tour de France and many other cycling races) announced in a simple press release that the Critérium International - after 9 years in Charleville Mézières and in the Ardennes - moves to Corsica and more precisely to Porto Vecchio in 2010.
Founded in 1932 as a one day race for French riders in the Vallée de Chevreuse (my favorite cycling area near Paris!) as the Critérium National, this cycling event developed itself into the Critérium International in ...> Read the whole story | 23 comments | shown 10670x
