The rumours about a possible Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2013 from Corsica are getting louder and louder and today's announcement about the move of the Critérium International to Corsica can only amplify them.
The Critérium International 2010 in Porto-Vecchio
Today A.S.O. (the organisor of the Tour de France and many other cycling races) announced in a simple press release that the Critérium International - after 9 years in Charleville Mézières and in the Ardennes - moves to Corsica and more precisely to Porto Vecchio in 2010.

The Grand Départ (start) of the 2011 Tour de France in the Vendée confirmed, without prologue
Announced on paris.thover.com since January 2008 already and recently confirmed, the Grand Départ of the 2011 Tour de France from Vendée has officially been presented today.

The department on the west coast of France will organise a first stage in line, a team time trial and the start of another stage in line.

While 2008 has just started, the place where the Tour de France will start in 2011 seems to be known already ...

Yesterday night, Philippe de Villiers, president of the Conseil Général de la Vendée announced at his new year's speech that the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2011 (the 98^th) will take place in the French department Vendée.

In the department building in La Roche-sur-Yon he emphasised the four days of cycling in the department, which would mean a Grand Départ similar to the one organised by the Brittany region for the Tour de France 2008, with even one day more and that on a surface of about one fifth of Brittany.

The Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2014 in Barcelona (Spain)?
Today several media announced that the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2014 might well go to Barcelona in Spain. After a stage finish and start in the Spanish city during the Tour de France 2009, the first days of the 101st edition in 2014 could thus well take place there as well.

Altough the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2011 (see the article The Tour de France 2011 starts in the Vendée) still hasn't been announced officially, we could well know the cityt which organises the start in 2014 already ...

When the Tour de France thinks green
The forelast stage of the Tour de France 2009 finished on top of the Mont-Ventoux. In the days which followed that stage all media mentioned the big amount of trash which was collected in the climb. But they didn't really mention what the Tour de France does to reduce its impact on the environment.
