    This Saturday 24 October 2009, the route of the Giro d'Italia 2010 has officially been revealed. The Tour of Italy, also called the Corsa Rosa, as announced in April, will start from Amsterdam in The Netherlands and will stay in The Netherlands for three days.

    Denis Menchov (Rabobank) won the Giro d'Italia 2009 on 31 May in Rome. Will he do the same in the Tour of Italy which starts in the country of his team's sponsor? We'll see from Saturday 8 till Sunday 30 May on the roads between Amsterdam and Verona!

    The Giro d'Italia 2010 starts in Amsterdam (The Netherlands)Several Dutch media announced today that the Tour of Italy will start in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2010.

    On Thursday a press conference is organised in Amsterdam where this information is most probably to be confirmed.

    The NOS, the Dutch public broadcaster, almost ruined the party

    While RCS, the Giro's organisor, announced last month that the NOS only wanted to pay them 30% of the amount we use to ask them and other broadcasters and that he wouldn't agree with that proposal and that without a live TV broadcast in The Netherlands the contract with Amsterdam won't be signed, this now no longer seems to be the case.

    Apparently the organisor will solve this problem directly with the NOS, but so far it's thus unknown whether the Giro-start in Amsterdam will be shown on Dutch public TV or not.
